Be
the Answer
“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.”
You look around your school and all you see are stories of heartbreak. Kids your age engaged in drugs, alcohol, sex, violence. You wonder to yourself. What kind of crazy world is this? Something has to be done.
A friend sends you a video clip with some news about Africa. You read about the 40 million orphans that will exist someday because of the AIDS crisis. You think to yourself, Does anybody care?
You see your community and the hopelessness of broken homes and shattered dreams. And you say to yourself, Why, Lord, why?
I see what you see. But I want you to see something else. Instead of looking at the problem, I want you to look at the solution. Go to the nearest mirror and look.
You might be the solution. Did you ever realize that God may have burdened your heart so that you could be part of the fix instead of part of the mess? Young people everywhere, from churches all over the world, are coming forward and saying, “God, use me. I want to be called. I want to be used.”
Are you willing to surrender your life to the Lord for His service? Maybe its overseas as a missionary. Maybe it’s in your own community as a missionary to your school or your neighbourhood.
You have the answer-the gospel of Jesus Christ. And God has called you to share it, to spread it, to declare it to the nations.
So today, instead of despairing, get on your knees and pray. God, help me be part of the solution instead of part of the problem.
And then get going. There’s a world out there that needs you.
